(makes 5 pints or 10 cups)
Another Grandma Peterson recipe…you can buy that premade stuff at the store, but it doesn’t hold a candle to the homemade version.
INGREDIENTS
6 egg yolks
1/2 c. sugar
6 egg whites
1/4 c. sugar
1 pint rich cream *
1 pint milk *
* or use 1 c. heavy whipping cream and 3 c. whole milk
INSTRUCTIONS
Beat egg yolks and 1/2 c. sugar until light and fluffy. Set aside. With clean beaters, beat egg whites and 1/4 c. sugar until very stiff. Fold yolk mixture into whites and add cream and milk. Chill. Stir and serve in cups with desired amount of rum or brandy. Top with nutmeg.
